1Do I need an appointment?
We do groom by appointment, although we occasionally have cancellations that create an opening in our grooming schedule. If you’re looking for a same-day appointment, please call to see what we have available. Nail trims are always welcome as walk-in opportunities during regular business hours and are done while you wait.
2How long will my pet spend at the salon?
Please expect to leave your pet in our care for 2 – 3 hours. Some pets require more time for various reasons. Special needs dogs and those with more extensive styling requirements may take longer and we’ll discuss that with you when you check in and provide an estimated time for pick up. We (and your pet) appreciate prompt pick up. If scheduling is an issue, please let us know and we can find a solution that will minimize your pet’s time here.
3How much does grooming cost?
There are many factors that contribute to pricing in grooming; size, temperament, age, health, amount & condition of coat and styling preferences as well as the cost of selected shampoos and other treatments. We can provide an estimate based on your description when the appointment is scheduled but we cannot guarantee estimates over the phone. You are always welcome to drop in during regular business hours for a consultation. We can meet you and your pet and discuss your grooming needs to get a better idea of grooming costs prior to scheduling and you get to check us out at the same time.
4Do you groom cats?
Yes! We currently offer full grooming services for cats one day a week. All cat grooming is by appointment. Please call to speak with our cat grooming expert.
5At what age should I start having my pet groomed?
It is important to get your puppy or kitten used to grooming so that he can learn to enjoy the process! We suggest making your first appointment as soon as your pet is adequately vaccinated. (Please follow your veterinarian’s recommendations.) Our goal is to create a positive first grooming experience for your new pet. This is a introductory appointment that covers basic hygiene plus whatever actual styling the little one will tolerate.
6How often should I get my pet groomed?
We recommend grooming every 4 – 6 weeks. Maintaining a regular grooming schedule is important for your pet’s health and their comfort during grooming. We are happy to customize a grooming plan that is tailored specifically for your pet and their lifestyle.
7Can I stay and watch?
Generally, pets behave better and have a safer, more enjoyable grooming experience when they are not distracted by their “parents” presence. If you have special concerns we can make accommodations once we meet you, get to know your pet, and evaluate how they respond to grooming in your absence.
8Should I sedate my pet?
No! We do not groom sedated animals. Grooming under sedation should only happen under veterinary supervision. We have highly trained groomers who have exceptional skills in handling nervous animals. Please allow us to assess your pet and work on conditioning them using a gentle, patient, and compassionate approach.
9What if I’m not happy with the grooming?
If you’re not happy, we’re not happy! Please talk to us. We can make immediate styling preference adjustments upon your arrival. We can schedule follow-up appointments to address more significant issues. Please let us know within 3 business days of any concerns you have.
10What types of vaccinations are required for salon services?
We require proof (documentation) of an up-to-date Rabies vaccination. Although we prefer and encourage full vaccination, in consultation with your veterinarian, we don’t enforce a comprehensive vaccination policy. We reserve the right-of-refusal and use our discretionary judgement as a safe guard to ensure the protection of all the pets in our care.
